Lugar emblemático de Buenos Aires, el Obelisco porteño en la intersección de la Av. 9 de Julio y la Av. Corrientes, también de la Diagonal Norte. El Obelisco de Buenos Aires es Monumento Histórico Nacional e ícono de la ciudad de Buenos Aires relacionado por imagen con el Tango. Emplazado sobre la Plaza de la República, en la intersección de las avenidas Corrientes y 9 de Julio, fue construido con motivo del 4to. Centenario de la primera fundación de la ciudad.

La obra de este monumento comenzó el 20 de marzo de 1936 y fue inaugurada el 23 de mayo de ese mismo año. Diseñado por el arquitecto Alberto Prebisch, uno de los principales arquitectos del Modernismo argentino y autor también del vecino Teatro Gran Rex, en Corrientes y Suipacha). Fue a pedido del intendente Mariano de Vedia y Mitre, nombrado en la presidencia de Agustín Pedro Justo.

El planetario de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires tiene el aspecto de una nave espacial posada en los parques de Palermo junto a un lago en donde nadan patos.

Es un lugar con actividades educativas gratuitas o a muy bajo costo, en distintos dias y horarios es posible ver al planetario en funcionamiento mostrando los cuerpos celestes con explicaciones, también se organizan visualizaciones de eclipses y proyecciones del disco solar. En el entorno con jardines, las familias y los jóvenes buscan aire y sol durante los fines de semana.

El Planetario Municipal de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, denominado “Galileo Galilei” fue desarrollado por el arquitecto Enrique Jan, a cargo de la Dirección General de Arquitectura y Urbanismo entre los años 1964 y 1968.

Una escultura de acero que se abre y cierra como una flor, ubicada en Av. Figueroa Alcorta entre la Facultad de Derecho de la UBA y el Canal 7 de televisión.

Es la donación de un arquitecto argentino residente en EEUU por agradecimiento al pais y su valor aproximado llegó al medio millón de dólares. En la noche se ilumina y a la caida del sol o cuando sopla viento muy fuerte se cierra.
